Gospel st. John 12

Then Jesus, six days before the passover, came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.

Na sześć dni przed Paschą Jezus przybył do Betanii, gdzie mieszkał Łazarz, którego Jezus wskrzesił z martwych.

There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.

Urządzono tam dla Niego ucztę. Marta posługiwała, a Łazarz był jednym z zasiadających z Nim przy stole.

Then Mary took a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odor of the ointment.

Maria zaś wzięła funt szlachetnego i drogocennego olejku nardowego i namaściła Jezusowi nogi, a włosami swymi je otarła. A dom napełnił się wonią olejku.

Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's [son], who was to betray him,

Na to rzekł Judasz Iskariota, jeden z uczniów Jego, ten, który miał Go wydać:

Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?

Czemu to nie sprzedano tego olejku za trzysta denarów i nie rozdano ich ubogim?

This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bore what was put in it.

Powiedział zaś to nie dlatego, jakoby dbał o biednych, ale ponieważ był złodziejem, i mając trzos wykradał to, co składano.

Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burial hath she kept this.

Na to Jezus powiedział: Zostaw ją! Przechowała to, aby /Mnie namaścić/ na dzień mojego pogrzebu.

For the poor ye have always with you; but me ye have not always.

Bo ubogich zawsze macie u siebie, ale Mnie nie zawsze macie.

Many people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.

Wielki tłum Żydów dowiedział się, że tam jest; a przybyli nie tylko ze względu na Jezusa, ale także by ujrzeć Łazarza, którego wskrzesił z martwych.

But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;

Arcykapłani zatem postanowili stracić również Łazarza,

Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.

Gdyż wielu z jego powodu odłączyło się od Żydów i uwierzyło w Jezusa.

On the next day, many people that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

Nazajutrz wielki tłum, który przybył na święto, usłyszawszy, że Jezus przybywa do Jerozolimy,

Took branches of palm-trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna; Blessed [is] the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

wziął gałązki palmowe i wybiegł Mu naprzeciw. Wołali: Hosanna! Błogosławiony, który przychodzi w imię Pańskie oraz Król izraelski!

And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,

A gdy Jezus znalazł osiołka, dosiadł go, jak jest napisane:

Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.

Nie bój się, Córo Syjońska! Oto Król twój przychodzi, siedząc na oślęciu.

These things his disciples understood not at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written concerning him, and [that] they had done these things to him.

Z początku Jego uczniowie tego nie zrozumieli. Ale gdy Jezus został uwielbiony, wówczas przypomnieli sobie, że to o Nim było napisane i że tak Mu uczynili.

The people therefore that were with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bore testimony.

Dawał więc świadectwo ten tłum, który był z Nim wówczas, kiedy Łazarza z grobu wywołał i wskrzesił z martwych.

For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle.

Dlatego też tłum wyszedł Mu na spotkanie, ponieważ usłyszał, że ten znak uczynił.

The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.

Faryzeusze zaś mówili jeden do drugiego: Widzicie, że nic nie zyskujecie? Patrz - świat poszedł za Nim.

And there were certain Greeks among them, that came to worship at the feast.

A wśród tych, którzy przybyli, aby oddać pokłon /Bogu/ w czasie święta, byli też niektórzy Grecy.

The same came therefore to Philip, who was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.

Oni więc przystąpili do Filipa, pochodzącego z Betsaidy Galilejskiej, i prosili go mówiąc: Panie, chcemy ujrzeć Jezusa.

Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again, Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.

Filip poszedł i powiedział Andrzejowi. Z kolei Andrzej i Filip poszli i powiedzieli Jezusowi.

And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.

A Jezus dał im taką odpowiedź: Nadeszła godzina, aby został uwielbiony Syn Człowieczy.

Verily, verily, I say to you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Zaprawdę, zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Jeżeli ziarno pszenicy wpadłszy w ziemię nie obumrze, zostanie tylko samo, ale jeżeli obumrze, przynosi plon obfity.

He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world, shall keep it to life eternal.

Ten, kto kocha swoje życie, traci je, a kto nienawidzi swego życia na tym świecie, zachowa je na życie wieczne.

If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will [my] Father honor.

A kto by chciał Mi służyć, niech idzie na Mną, a gdzie Ja jestem, tam będzie i mój sługa. A jeśli ktoś Mi służy, uczci go mój Ojciec.

Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause I came to this hour.

Teraz dusza moja doznała lęku i cóż mam powiedzieć? Ojcze, wybaw Mnie od tej godziny. Nie, właśnie dlatego przyszedłem na tę godzinę.

Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, [saying], I have both glorified [it], and will glorify [it] again.

Ojcze, wsław Twoje imię. Wtem rozległ się głos z nieba: Już wsławiłem i jeszcze wsławię.

The people therefore that stood by, and heard [it], said that it thundered. Others said, An angel spoke to him.

Tłum stojący /to/ usłyszał i mówił: Zagrzmiało! Inni mówili: Anioł przemówił do Niego.

Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.

Na to rzekł Jezus: Głos ten rozległ się nie ze względu na Mnie, ale ze względu na was.

Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

Teraz odbywa się sąd nad tym światem. Teraz władca tego świata zostanie precz wyrzucony.

And I, if I shall be lifted up from the earth, will draw all [men] to me.

A Ja, gdy zostanę nad ziemię wywyższony, przyciągnę wszystkich do siebie.

(This he said, signifying what death he should die.)

To powiedział zaznaczając, jaką śmiercią miał umrzeć.

The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of man?

Na to tłum Mu odpowiedział: Myśmy się dowiedzieli z Prawa, że Mesjasz ma trwać na wieki. Jakżeż Ty możesz mówić, że potrzeba wywyższyć Syna Człowieczego? Któż to jest ten Syn Człowieczy?

Then Jesus said to them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

Odpowiedział im więc Jezus: Jeszcze przez krótki czas przebywa wśród was światłość. Chodźcie, dopóki macie światłość, aby was ciemność nie ogarnęła. A kto chodzi w ciemności, nie wie, dokąd idzie.

While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spoke Jesus, and departed, and concealed himself from them.

Dopóki światłość macie, wierzcie w światłość, abyście byli synami światłości. To powiedział Jezus i odszedł, i ukrył się przed nimi.

But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

Chociaż jednak uczynił On przed nimi tak wielkie znaki, nie uwierzyli w Niego,

That the saying of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?

aby się spełniło słowo proroka Izajasza, który rzekł: Panie, któż uwierzył naszemu głosowi? A ramię Pańskie komu zostało objawione?

Therefore they could not believe, because that Isaiah said again,

Dlatego nie mogli uwierzyć, ponieważ znów rzekł Izajasz:

He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with [their] eyes, nor understand with [their] heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Zaślepił ich oczy i twardym uczynił ich serce, żeby nie widzieli oczami oraz nie poznali sercem i nie nawrócili się, ażebym ich uzdrowił.

These things said Isaiah, when he saw his glory, and spoke of him.

Tak powiedział Izajasz, ponieważ ujrzał chwałę Jego i o Nim mówił.

Nevertheless, among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess [him], lest they should be put out of the synagogue:

Niemniej jednak i spośród przywódców wielu w Niego uwierzyło, ale z obawy przed faryzeuszami nie przyznawali się, aby ich nie wyłączono z synagogi.

For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

Bardziej bowiem umiłowali chwałę ludzką aniżeli chwałę Bożą.

Jesus cried, and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me:

Jezus zaś tak wołał: Ten, kto we Mnie wierzy, wierzy nie we Mnie, lecz w Tego, który Mnie posłał.

And he that seeth me, seeth him that sent me:

A kto Mnie widzi, widzi Tego, który Mnie posłał.

I am come a light into the world, that whoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

Ja przyszedłem na świat jako światło, aby każdy, kto we Mnie wierzy, nie pozostawał w ciemności.

And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

A jeżeli ktoś posłyszy słowa moje, ale ich nie zachowa, to Ja go nie sądzę. Nie przyszedłem bowiem po to, aby świat sądzić, ale aby świat zbawić.

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

Kto gardzi Mną i nie przyjmuje słów moich, ten ma swego sędziego: słowo, które powiedziałem, ono to będzie go sądzić w dniu ostatecznym.

For I have not spoken from myself; but the Father who sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

Nie mówiłem bowiem sam od siebie, ale Ten, który Mnie posłał, Ojciec, On Mi nakazał, co mam powiedzieć i oznajmić.

And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatever I speak therefore, even as the Father said to me, so I speak.

A wiem, że przykazanie Jego jest życiem wiecznym. To, co mówię, mówię tak, jak Mi Ojciec powiedział.
