Gospel st. John 13

Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

Było to przed Świętem Paschy. Jezus wiedząc, że nadeszła Jego godzina przejścia z tego świata do Ojca, umiłowawszy swoich na świecie, do końca ich umiłował.

And supper being ended (the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's [son], to betray him;)

W czasie wieczerzy, gdy diabeł już nakłonił serce Judasza Iskarioty syna Szymona, aby Go wydać,

Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God, and was going to God;

wiedząc, że Ojciec dał Mu wszystko w ręce oraz że od Boga wyszedł i do Boga idzie,

He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.

wstał od wieczerzy i złożył szaty. A wziąwszy prześcieradło nim się przepasał.

After that, he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples feet, and to wipe [them] with the towel with which he was girded.

Potem nalał wody do miednicy. I zaczął umywać uczniom nogi i ocierać prześcieradłem, którym był przepasany.

Then he cometh to Simon Peter: and Peter saith to him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?

Podszedł więc do Szymona Piotra, a on rzekł do Niego: Panie, Ty chcesz mi umyć nogi?

Jesus answered and said to him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.

Jezus mu odpowiedział: Tego, co Ja czynię, ty teraz nie rozumiesz, ale później będziesz to wiedział.

Peter saith to him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.

Rzekł do Niego Piotr: Nie, nigdy mi nie będziesz nóg umywał. Odpowiedział mu Jezus: Jeśli cię nie umyję, nie będziesz miał udziału ze Mną.

Simon Peter saith to him, Lord, not my feet only, but also [my] hands and [my] head.

Rzekł do Niego Szymon Piotr: Panie, nie tylko nogi moje, ale i ręce, i głowę.

Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash [his] feet, but is wholly clean: and ye are clean, but not all.

Powiedział do niego Jezus: Wykąpany potrzebuje tylko nogi sobie umyć, bo cały jest czysty. I wy jesteście czyści, ale nie wszyscy.

For he knew who would betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.

Wiedział bowiem, kto Go wyda, dlatego powiedział: Nie wszyscy jesteście czyści.

So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said to them, Know ye what I have done to you?

A kiedy im umył nogi, przywdział szaty i znów zajął miejsce przy stole, rzekł do nich: Czy rozumiecie, co wam uczyniłem?

Ye call me Master, and Lord: and ye say well; for [so] I am.

Wy Mnie nazywacie Nauczycielem i Panem i dobrze mówicie, bo nim jestem.

If I then, [your] Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.

Jeżeli więc Ja, Pan i Nauczyciel, umyłem wam nogi, to i wyście powinni sobie nawzajem umywać nogi.

For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

Dałem wam bowiem przykład, abyście i wy tak czynili, jak Ja wam uczyniłem.

Verily, verily, I say to you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

Zaprawdę, zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Sługa nie jest większy od swego pana ani wysłannik od tego, który go posłał.

If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Wiedząc to będziecie błogosławieni, gdy według tego będziecie postępować.

I speak not of you all; I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me, hath lifted up his heel against me.

Nie mówię o was wszystkich. Ja wiem, których wybrałem; lecz /potrzeba/, aby się wypełniło Pismo: Kto ze Mną spożywa chleb, ten podniósł na Mnie swoją piętę.

Now I tell you before it cometh, that when it hath come to pass, ye may believe that I am [he].

Już teraz, zanim się to stanie, mówię wam, abyście, gdy się stanie, uwierzyli, że Ja jestem.

Verily, verily, I say to you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send, receiveth me; and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me.

Zaprawdę, zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Kto przyjmuje tego, którego Ja poślę, Mnie przyjmuje. A kto Mnie przyjmuje, przyjmuje Tego, który Mnie posłał.

When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say to you, that one of you will betray me.

To powiedziawszy Jezus doznał głębokiego wzruszenia i tak oświadczył: Zaprawdę, zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Jeden z was Mnie zdradzi.

Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spoke.

Spoglądali uczniowie jeden na drugiego niepewni, o kim mówi.

Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom, one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

Jeden z uczniów Jego - ten, którego Jezus miłował - spoczywał na Jego piersi.

Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, to ask who it should be of whom he spoke.

Jemu to dał znak Szymon Piotr i rzekł do niego: Kto to jest? O kim mówi?

He then lying on Jesus' breast, saith to him, Lord, who is it?

Ten oparł się zaraz na piersi Jezusa i rzekł do Niego: Panie, kto to jest?

Jesus answered, He it is to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped [it]. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave [it] to Judas Iscariot, [the son] of Simon.

Jezus odparł: To ten, dla którego umaczam kawałek /chleba/, i podam mu Umoczywszy więc kawałek /chleba/, wziął i podał Judaszowi, synowi Szymona Iskarioty

And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus to him, What thou doest, do quickly.

A po spożyciu kawałka /chleba/ wszedł w niego szatan. Jezus zaś rzekł do niego: Co chcesz czynić, czyń prędzej.

Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spoke this to him.

Nikt jednak z biesiadników nie rozumiał, dlaczego mu to powiedział.

For some [of them] thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said to him, Buy [those things] that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.

Ponieważ Judasz miał pieczę nad trzosem, niektórzy sądzili, że Jezus powiedział do niego: Zakup, czego nam potrzeba na święto, albo żeby dał coś ubogim.

He then having received the sop, went immediately out: and it was night.

A on po spożyciu kawałka /chleba/ zaraz wyszedł. A była noc.

Therefore when he had gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.

Po jego wyjściu rzekł Jezus: Syn Człowieczy został teraz otoczony chwałą, a w Nim Bóg został chwałą otoczony.

If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and will immediately glorify him.

Jeżeli Bóg został w Nim otoczony chwałą, to i Bóg Go otoczy chwałą w sobie samym, i to zaraz Go chwałą otoczy.

Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye will seek me: and, as I said to the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.

Dzieci, jeszcze krótko jestem z wami. Będziecie Mnie szukać, ale - jak to Żydom powiedziałem, tak i teraz wam mówię - dokąd Ja idę, wy pójść nie możecie.

A new commandment I give to you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Przykazanie nowe daję wam, abyście się wzajemnie miłowali tak, jak Ja was umiłowałem; żebyście i wy tak się miłowali wzajemnie.

By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Po tym wszyscy poznają, żeście uczniami moimi, jeśli będziecie się wzajemnie miłowali.

Simon Peter said to him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterward.

Rzekł do Niego Szymon Piotr: Panie, dokąd idziesz? Odpowiedział mu Jezus: Dokąd Ja idę, ty teraz za Mną pójść nie możesz, ale później pójdziesz.

Peter said to him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.

Powiedział Mu Piotr: Panie, dlaczego teraz nie mogę pójść za Tobą? życie moje oddam za Ciebie.

Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say to thee, The cock will not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.

Odpowiedział Jezus: życie swoje oddasz za Mnie? Zaprawdę, zaprawdę, powiadam ci: Kogut nie zapieje, aż ty trzy razy się Mnie wyprzesz.
